Interior Design Services for Homes and Offices in Rwanda
Crafters Furniture and Interior Design provides interior design in Kigali for homes, offices and hospitality spaces, from the first measured survey to final handover. The same team designs the space and builds the furniture in its workshop at Gacuriro 55, KG 375 St.

Our interior design service covers the whole project: measured survey, space planning, lighting layout, colour and material selection, 3D visualisation, procurement and on-site supervision until handover. We work on apartments and villas in Gacuriro, Nyarutarama, Kibagabaga and Kicukiro, as well as offices and hospitality projects across Kigali.
Design and build are handled by the same team, so drawings translate directly into joinery from our own workshop — which keeps dimensions, finishes and delivery dates under one point of responsibility.
What the service includes
Each project is scoped to what you need, from a single room to a whole house or office:
- Measured survey and space planning.
- Lighting layout and electrical point positions.
- Colour, material and finish selection with sample boards.
- 3D visualisation so you can see the room before work starts.
- Custom furniture and cabinetry from our own workshop.
- On-site supervision until handover.
How a project runs
We begin with a conversation about how you live or work in the space, followed by a site visit and measurements. Concept layouts and mood boards come next; once agreed, we develop detailed drawings and visualisations, finalise materials and move into production and installation.
Because design and manufacturing sit under one roof, cabinetry and sofas drawn in the design are built to those exact dimensions, avoiding the gap between a designer's drawing and an installer's interpretation.
Homes and businesses
For homes, we typically design living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and dressing rooms. For businesses, see our commercial interior design page covering offices, restaurants, hotels and retail.
What to prepare before you request a quote
A quote for interior design is only as accurate as the information behind it. Before you message us, gather the following so we can respond with useful questions instead of guesses:
- Your rough measurements and a sketch, or simply photos of the room taken from each corner.
- Two or three reference images of styles you like, from Instagram, Pinterest or our portfolio.
- Your preferred colours and finishes, even if you are undecided.
- How the space is used day to day and by whom.
- Your location in Kigali or elsewhere in Rwanda, so we can plan delivery and installation.
How to measure your space
You do not need to be precise to start a conversation, but good numbers make the first drawing much closer to the final piece. Use a metal tape, measure in centimetres and write each figure on a simple sketch of the room.
- Wall lengths, measured at floor level and again at about 1 metre high, because walls are rarely perfectly straight.
- Ceiling height in at least two places.
- Positions of windows, doors, sockets, switches, pipes and the main water or gas points.
- Skirting height and any beams, columns or boxed-in pipes.
- Doorways, corridors and stair widths the finished piece has to pass through.
Where we work
Our workshop and showroom are at Gacuriro 55, KG 375 St, Kigali. We design, deliver and install across Kigali and throughout Rwanda, and we are happy to discuss projects elsewhere in East Africa. Send your location with your enquiry and we will confirm what delivery and installation involve for your site.
Frequently asked questions

Both. We design the interior and manufacture the furniture and cabinetry in our own Kigali workshop, then install it.
Can you design a single room?
Yes. We take on single rooms, full homes and commercial spaces.
Will I see the design before work starts?
Yes. We provide layouts, material boards and 3D visualisations for approval before production begins.
Do you supervise the work on site?
Yes. Our team supervises installation through to handover.
