Every sofa is built on a kiln-dried hardwood frame with webbing or sinuous springs and high-density foam, then covered in the client's chosen fabric — velvet, boucle, linen, chenille or genuine leather. L-shape, curved, modular and Chesterfield configurations are all made to order.
We also re-upholster existing furniture: frame repair, new foam, new webbing and a full recover, which is often the more economical route for well-built older pieces.
When re-upholstery makes sense
A well-built sofa or armchair often outlasts its cover. If the frame is solid but the fabric is worn, the cushions have flattened or the seat sags, re-upholstery can bring it back to life and lets you change the colour to suit a new room.

What re-upholstery involves
Each piece is assessed in the workshop before work starts. Depending on its condition, the work can include:
- Stripping the old cover and padding.
- Repairing or reinforcing the frame and joints.
- Replacing webbing or springs.
- New high-density foam for seats and backs.
- A full recover in your chosen fabric or leather.

Sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, headboards, ottomans, benches and restaurant or office seating. Covers are available in velvet, boucle, linen, chenille and genuine leather, in the same colour range we use for new sofas.
Fabric and colour options
Recovering gives you the same choice of covers we use for new sofas: velvet, boucle, linen, chenille and genuine leather. The colour range includes beige, cream, off-white, light grey, medium grey, taupe, sand, charcoal grey, black, dark brown, chocolate brown, warm mocha, navy blue, dusty blue, olive green, sage green, khaki, terracotta, camel and soft blush. We show real fabric samples before work starts, so you can judge the colour in your own light.
What to prepare before you request a quote
A quote for re-upholstery is only as accurate as the information behind it. Before you message us, gather the following so we can respond with useful questions instead of guesses:
- Your rough measurements and a sketch, or simply photos of the room taken from each corner.
- Two or three reference images of styles you like, from Instagram, Pinterest or our portfolio.
- Your preferred colours and finishes, even if you are undecided.
- How the space is used day to day and by whom.
- Your location in Kigali or elsewhere in Rwanda, so we can plan delivery and installation.

Frequently asked questions
Is re-upholstery the same as a custom sofa?
No. Re-upholstery repairs and recovers furniture you already own. A custom sofa is a new piece built from a new frame. We offer both.
Can you change the colour of my sofa?
Yes. A full recover lets you choose a new fabric or leather and colour.
Do you repair sagging seats?
Yes. We replace webbing, springs and foam as needed, and repair the frame if required.
Do you re-upholster dining chairs and headboards?
