Kitchen layouts we build

The right layout depends on the shape of the room and where the water, power and window sit:

• Single-wall kitchens for apartments and studios.
• L-shaped kitchens that open onto a dining or living area.
• U-shaped kitchens for maximum worktop and storage.
• Galley kitchens with cabinets on two facing walls.
• Kitchens with an island or breakfast bar.

Planning a kitchen that works

We plan around how you cook: the distance between sink, hob and fridge, where pots and pans live, enough worktop beside the hob, and tall units for a built-in oven or pantry. Wall units are set at a comfortable height, and we plan for appliances you already own or intend to buy.

After you approve the drawings, the kitchen is built in our workshop and templated on site so worktops and panels sit tight against real walls.

Finishes and colours

Door fronts are available in melamine wood-grain tones such as light natural oak, dark walnut and rich espresso, or in solid colours like white, Morandi gray, iron gray and black, as well as high-gloss acrylic and spray lacquer. How to measure your space

You do not need to be precise to start a conversation, but good numbers make the first drawing much closer to the final piece. Use a metal tape, measure in centimetres and write each figure on a simple sketch of the room.

• Wall lengths, measured at floor level and again at about 1 metre high, because walls are rarely perfectly straight.
• Ceiling height in at least two places.
• Positions of windows, doors, sockets, switches, pipes and the main water or gas points.
• Skirting height and any beams, columns or boxed-in pipes.
• Doorways, corridors and stair widths the finished piece has to pass through.

What to prepare before you request a quote

A quote for a fitted kitchen is only as accurate as the information behind it. Before you message us, gather the following so we can respond with useful questions instead of guesses:

• Your rough measurements and a sketch, or simply photos of the room taken from each corner.
• Two or three reference images of styles you like, from Instagram, Pinterest or our portfolio.
• Your preferred colours and finishes, even if you are undecided.
• How the space is used day to day and by whom.
• Your location in Kigali or elsewhere in Rwanda, so we can plan delivery and installation.
